LOL

My little Sister and Sis in law got me this cute little headband for my birthday. They thought I wouldn't wear it...lol It says 29 again! Love it. I have been wearing it all day. I have no idea why people look at me so oddly they know me.....RIGHT??

So Today is the Big 30 for me, and so far so good....lol.

Flash back...

Nic's Aunt sent this to me in an email the other day. She asked me if I had this picture. (no was the answer)
I was excited to find out she had saved it. It was taken not to long after Nic asked me to marry him. So doing the math lol yeah it was the year 2000. We are both 20 years old in that picture. I am only guessing on that cause she told me that is when it was taken...lol
We are standing in my in-laws living room....lol it has not changed! Yet lol we have not changed much either....lol
Oh to be young again....pass!! Looking back there is not much I would change. We live and make mistakes....it makes us who we are. It has taken me along time to become the woman that I am today. And I kinda like me...lol!
Side note.....Isn't Nic so handsome!!!

My weekend

I was so excited for this last Friday to get here. It was bound to be a slammin packed weekend. And sure enough it was.
I got off of work Friday went home and picked up Nic and Tayler to head over to my father in laws house for dinner. My brother in lawn cooked dinner.....Sweet...right? It is a Friday and it is hot and I dont have to cook....lol Should be a dream come true. We get there and Michael had made white beans and corn bread...yummy. One thing I love and rarely get. Yeah so we all dish up and go to eat. "My mouth is on fire!!" What did you put in this stuff....geeez it is hot. He attempted to be a chef when he is sooooooo not.lol He put sea food boil seasoning in it....holy monkeys....a little goes a long way. And then his corn bread....first he used OLD self rising corn meal....old from '07. yeah so it didnt rise. he added cheese and corn and who knows what else to it...I passed on that stuff but Nic said it was not that good. We had to leave there early cause we had to be up early.....so off to home we go.
Saturday was an early rise. 4am I tell ya. Had to get me Tayler and Nic ready to go to the fire department. It was the Mint Festival Fire Breakfast. We volunteered to cook. It is an all you can eat 5 dollar to the public breakfast. It went from 6am to 12pm. I got there not really sure what I was going to be doing....finally made myself at home in the kitchen preping the pancake batter (5lbs bags of mix at a time) along with coffee and OJ. I was busy! I think I mixed like 15-17 bags of mix. The good news is that we fed alot of people. And the Chief says I mix good batter! LOL We served pancakes, eggs to order and ham! After clean up I was so tired I had been running (literally) six + hours. It was a good time. I will do it again next year. After clean up Me Nic and Tayler went to garage sales. Jefferson wide garage Sales (Remember Jody we went last year!) I got a few good things....It was way hot.
Sunday got to sleep in some. I had this brilliant idea to go floating down the river (Santiam) this day. So we all got together (me, Nic, Tayler, Michael and Ricky) and we floated from Jefferson boat dock to the rest area on I5. It took about 1 hour 30 min. I thought I was so smart. Put Sun Screen on me and Tayler. Yeah score for me right!!! Wrong!!!! I got sooooooo burnt. My legs and arms a very toasty. Good news is Tayler was fine. So we got out of the water and went and at lunch/dinner at a place in Jefferson. We were thinking that we would float it again after we ate....but by the time we got our food my legs were on fire!!!! Yeah skipped the second Round!!! lol
So needless to say I spent all day Monday home from work in pain laying on the couch not able to move!!! LOL
Oh well I should go find some SPF 5000!!

Relay for life.

So this Friday is the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society. I am walking with the Team I walked with last year, the Corvallis Fred Meyer Team. Nic's cousins work there and we walk in memory of Beverly. It should be a good time with family and friends supporting a good cause. I have had great luck with coworkers and family in raising some money to fight against cancer!!
They do these things called Luminariums. You buy a bag (fund raising you know) and decorate it in memory of a person who has lost the battle to cancer or dedicate it to a survivor ect.. So I got two, one for me and one for Tayler to decorate for Bev. It was a great time with Tayler, I got out all my scrapbooking stuff (minus paper) and we had a blast. Tayler did her own bag all by herself...she Loves it. So what they do with the bags is they put sand in the bottom and put a candle in it. When it gets dark they line the track with all the bags and you get to walk around reading and looking at all the bags....very emotional!
So I put alot of thought into how I was going to make my bag and I am very happy with how it turned out....

I think the CLAIR jeans run deep in this family. They all look alike. I love to see them all together. Tayler really loves her Daddy and Uncle Mikey.
The two boys say they don't look that much alike....I say they are nuts!
I love this picture. They are some of the most important people in my life.
My Husband Nic, My Daughter Tayler, and My Brother-In-Law (who I think of more as a brother than an In-Law)

Nic's Surprise.

Sence we went to the coast for Nic's Birthday, I didn't get him anything. And well that kinda made me feel bad. So out of the blue this last weekend he said...."I was thinking you would have made me something you know.....scrap it". Hmmmm What a fantastic Idea. It totally just came to me...lol So since all my scrap stuff was at home. I just thought about what I wanted to make for him. I wanted to make a shadow box.....but did't have all the stuff to make it....So my second thought. I have seen Anne make so many of these things.....Hmmm yup I think I can do it. So this is what I made for Nic for his Birthday. I hope he will love it.

I totally have a little scrapper on my hands. She was right there with me every step of the way trying all the things I was doing. I think I may have to get her some stuff soon...lol If you look very closely It says (upside down) "firefighter" and she decked it out in Firefighter stickers and colored away!! She says Nic will love hers the best....and between you and me....I am betting she is right!!!

We had a blast doing this project together for the last two evenings.

Tonight I went to dinner with Mr. & Mrs. True. I had such a great time, chatting and laughing. I even laughed until I cried. It was a blast Good food, Good friends and Good laughs! Can't beat it....

It turned out!!

What a BEAUTIFUL sun set at the cabin! Tayler is having so much fun trying to be in all the pictures.

My little hiker! She wanted to lead the way. Even though she had no clue where we were going.

Nic and Tayler sitting on the steps the the end of the trail. Taking in the forest and lovely weather.

Me and Tayler at the end of the trail. Next to the tree you could go all the way under. Tayler thought it was so cool. She played there for awhile. This tree was over 500 years old. It grew as a seedling on top of a decaying old tree, and over the past 500 years that old tree has decayed and left a tunnel under the 500 year old tree. It is amazing!

Me and Tayler at the stone building. Part of our hike this weekend. It was such an amazing view. It over looked the ocean!

Oh yes I did it!! I cut my vinyl and Look just Look at what I did!! I can not believe I did it!!
